H&S Book Club – Fall 2025 | Chapter 3 Discussion

The Humanities & Sciences Department (H&S), the Center for Innovative Teaching & Learning (CITL), and The ArtCenter Library, are excited to announce a collaborative Book Club open to all students, staff, and faculty!

We invite you to join us on Thursday, October 16, 2025, 12:30PM–1:30PM at the ArtCenter Library or via Zoom for the launch of our upcoming reading and discussion series. Together, we will be exploring the book:

The Threat: Why Digital Capitalism is Sexist and How to Resist by Dr. Lilia Giugni

This book club will meet weekly (in-person and via Zoom) to discuss one chapter at a time, creating space for rich dialogue and shared reflection around pressing issues at the intersections of technology, power, gender, and society.

  • November 6 – Chapter 6 | The women's pandemic
  • November 13 – Chapter 7 | The politics of the digital revolution
  • November 20 – Chapter 8 | What is to be done? & Stealing the master's tools
  • December 34 – Chapter 9 & Conclusions | Ten ways to reform and resist & In defence of (feminist) utopias
  • December 11 – Final Discussion with the author (via Zoom)

(Note: No meeting on November 27 during Thanksgiving week.)
