Come and participate in a collaborative research and writing thesis workshop for graduate students, jointly organized by the ArtCenter Library and the Writing Center. This in-person event will take place on Friday, October 3, 2025, from 10am to 12:30pm at the Archives & Special Collections Jules Bates Artrouble Center, 950 Building, South Campus in room 210.

At this in-person event, we'll have staff from the ArtCenter Library and the Writing Center discuss strategies for graduate students just beginning work on their theses.

Bob Dirig, Director of Archives and Special Collections, will give an overview of previous grad theses and the process of submitting your work.

Alfonso Huerta, Director, Outreach and Access, will give an overview of library services and Basic Search. 

Amelia Yessayantz, Learning Resource Center Manager, will complement this discussion with specific writing strategies to use in your thesis drafts. 

Mark Parsons and Andrea Harpole, Research Librarians, will discuss the Library's Extended Search and online research databases, your one-stop shop for all secondary sources. Our librarians will discuss how to properly strategize your research and develop a coherent plan of action.

We'll wrap up with a presentation by Mark Parsons, Research Librarian, about how to properly cite your sources using Zotero software.

If you're a graduate student just beginning the process of writing your thesis project, please don't miss this important opportunity to learn from ArtCenter's best resources. Our ArtCenter Library and Writing Center staff are trained experts on many, if not all, issues you will undoubtedly come across.
