Faculty Dialogues: A Conversation with Pamela Olecki and Shanna Dobson
Friday, February 14, 12pm–1pm
ArtCenter Library, Hillside Campus
This Valentine’s Day, fall in love with the intersection of mathematics and graphic design at our next Faculty Dialogues event.
Join us for a special screening and conversation with Pamela Olecki, Associate Professor of Graphic Design, and Shanna Dobson, Assistant Professor of Mathematics. Together, they’ll explore the unexpected and beautiful connections between numbers, patterns, and visual storytelling.
After the screening of The Intersection Between Mathematics and Graphic Design, stay for a Q&A and engaging discussion on how these two disciplines shape the world around us.
Pamela Olecki is a Graphic Designer and Art Director having worked with a variety of clients such as Disney, LA Phil, Warner Brothers Entertainment, Hulu, and National Geographic Magazine.
Shanna Dobson is PhD Candidate in Mathematics (Summa cum Laude) at the University of California, Riverside, and editor of the book Women in MathArt: Research, Creativity, and Teaching. She is a National Science Foundation (NSF) Fellow, a Caltech SURF Fellow, and a UCR Distinguished Chancellor Fellow. Shanna is currently the chair of Faculty Council.
